2016 saw Watermill Swatch becoming the Number 1. living sire of both 4 year olds and of older horses sold at public auction 2016.
This beautiful and elegant stallion was the first thoroughbred stallion to ever undergo and complete the KWPN’s strict 70 day test in Ermelo. He finished his test achieving excellent results and was fully approved by the KWPN.
Watermill Swatch is noted as being a big, blood, scopy stallion with a very easy temperament. Following a successful racing career, he competed in dressage and show jumping in Holland.
One of the major accolades to be bestowed on Watermill Swatch was when he was crowned Croker Cup champion at the RDS, the highest honour achievable by a thoroughbred stallion in Ireland.
This honour was made all the more special due to the inspiring comments received from French judge Bernard Le Courtois; the man responsible for sourcing the world renowned show jumping thoroughbred stallions: Hand in Glove and Laudanum, when he said: ‘’I have not seen a Thoroughbred like him in 20 years. Everything about him is exceptional. This is exactly what is needed to produce beautiful athletic horses which are so hard to find nowadays. If we could only have a stallion like him in France it would be a dream come true’’.
Watermill Swatch’s pedigree is very appealing to show jumping as well as, event horse breeders alike as he is sired by Mytens who is renowned as a jumper producer and very influential sire, being approved in numerous studbooks. He has sired international show jumpers such as: Joint Venture, Mynos, Merlin, Ivanhoe Hytens, etc.
Watermill Swatch’s dam Watermill Olymp received a glowing report from the KWPN during her assessment. She is also dam of Watermill Rolex a full brother to Swatch that is fully approved with the Hanoverian studbook in Germany.
