A very well-bred Holsteiner out of a proven sire line. The dam line (Holstein nr. 741) produces strong performers.
Cardento has plenty of evidence at the highest level in sport. With rider Peter Eriksson he was a solid member of the Swedish team at the big shows. He received a Silver medal at the World Championships, European Championships and at the Olympics in 2004. He won the Nation’s Cup of Rome, Drammen and Ikast. Individually he won the Grand Prix of Holte, Helsingborg, Angelholm, Gera, Kungsbacke (twice) and took 2nd place in Aarhus. He also was 6th in the Worldcup Qualifier of Gotenborg, 4th in the German Classics of Hannover and 6th in the Grand Prix of Stockholm.
Cardento is an internationally valued stallion for breeding. His offspring are high placed at several international shows: La Silla Kiara with R. Goran Bengtsson, Cazino with R. Pessoa, Hidden Creek’s Campella with M. Engle, Traffic Boy with S. Sweetnam, Carisma with O. Philippaerts, Caramell KS with S. Johansson, Glory Days with D. Zetterman, Udento VDL with H. Dobbs, Draco with R. Whitaker, Canthara with V. Luncback, Matrix wit L.B. Fredricson, Cadence with M. Edrick, Midsnummer with E. Hultberg, Maya with A. Lidbeck and many more. They were successful in the Grand Prixs, World Cups and Nation Cups. So became Carisma the European Champion of the Juniors and winner of the Grand Prix of Reims. La Silla Kiara won the Grand Prix of Odense and Glory Days won the Grand Prix of Bonheiden. Hidden Creek’s Campella placed 6th in the Grand Prix of Wellington and Caramell KS placed 7th in the World Cup competition of Den Bosch. Also at the young jumpers the Cardento offspring have prominent results: Cisco won the Open Scandinavian Championships of 7 year olds jumpers, Ardenco became Belgium Champion Eventing of the 5 year olds and Ardenta VDL was selected for the finals of the World Championship for 5 year olds in Lanaken. Daughter Classic Lady was as a 7 year old World Champion in Lanaken.
Based on the results of his offspring Cardento is titled ‘Elite’, he has received the Breeders trophy in Sweden five times and he became twice ‘Stallion of the Year’ in Sweden. In the Jumping Indexes of several studbooks Cardento scores high. In Sweden he got an Jumping Index of 162 on the second place.
